Announced back in May, the first mobile phone to bear the Christian Dior name will be available in two versions that differ only in terms of price and the luxury materials used in the manufacturing process.
Named "My Dior", the handset comes in a clamshell form factor and has features that include a 2.6 inch internal TFT display with a QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels), a 2 Megapixel photo camera,
a user interface designed in the spirit of Christian Dior's products and exclusive ringtones. These are the only features unveiled until now, so we assume the phone is - from the technical point of view - a mid-end one.
While the first version of My Dior is a regular one, having a retail price of "only" $5,000 (about 3,170 Euros), the second one is much more expensive, retailing for $26,000 (around 16,500 Euros). The high price is justified by the fact that this version of the handset is dressed in crocodile leather and 640 Swarovski crystals. Of course, "justified" is not exactly a good term, since the price is huge when compared to the actual value of the phone and its stones, but luxury products are always sold for more than they're actually worth, so we shouldn't be surprised by the price of this My Dior.
